I think I make it a point to notify anyone that I come across at any time that hip hop is my heart. Now, while I love all types of music, hip hop is that one genre. That one topic that could draw all types of emotions from me. Whether ready to beat the shit out of a nigga sayin Lil Wayne is better than Tupac or ready to dap the nigga that said Slick Rick is one of the most slept on emcees of all time and shud be held in high regards as one of the greatest to ever grace a microphone, but theres an era of hip hop that aside from a handful of songs i'm a stranger too, thats the 70's nd early 80's. I dont know much but I'll post a couple of my favorite joints from the early 80s. but if ya got any gems from that time,
Freaks Come Out At Night - Whodini
The Message - Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five
Jailhouse Rap - The Fat Boys
The Breaks - Kurtis Blow
Fresh, Fly, Wild, and Bold - Cold Crush Brothers
Can I Get A Soul Clap - Grandwizard Theodore and The Fantastic Five
Renegades of Funk - Afrika Bambaataa and SoulSonic Force
